This is where all the magic happens.
I grew up on a farm in southwest Iowa surrounded by machinery, crops, livestock and one competitive, ambitious, detailed-oriented family. This background fuels my interdisciplinary, conceptual art practice based in Carroll, IA. I specialize in mixed media, sculpture-esque painting, sculpture, installation, and land art. Through these mediums I explore my spatial awareness using scale and perspective. I am most interested in found and created lines, bricolage, and the idea of what it means to leave one's mark behind.
"Closer than We think” art show — februrary 2025: the old fashioned - denison, Iowa
I got invited to show my work for the first time locally at The Old Fashioned in Denison, Iowa. This show was absolutely wonderful and such a great experience for me and my family.
West Iowa art studio tour: april 2025
I got invited to be involved in a West Iowa Art Studio Tour. It was a public event where people could visit studio spaces and meet the artists that occupy that space. The day was filled with friends, new faces, and art filled conversations.
dmacc biz ed event: april 2025
I was honored to be asked for the second year to be a judge for an event geared towards students learning about how to become an entrepreneur and what it takes to build a business. It is wonderful to see that creativeness of all the students and be apart of that journey of thinking with them.
alternative painting classes: march 2025
I got asked to do a painting class for young students in a Carroll County 4H Chapter. We went over alternative techniques to enhance their art in order to inspire their future artistic projects. They all did such a beautiful job!!
Painting class birthday party: december 2023
There is nothing more fun than a painting class for a 8 year old birthday party. I gave them two images to pic from and they did fantastic with the one they chose.
